Hi, I’m Kiara!

Welcome to De La Rosa Diaries

This blog is a personal space dedicated to girlhood, style, culture, nostalgia, and the process of starting over. I’m a 27-year-old preschool teacher and graduate student currently living in New York City. De La Rosa Diaries was once a childhood dream that eventually became a reality. It is a collection of personal essays, reflections on life in New York City, fashion inspiration, and media and moments that have shaped me along the way.

Part diary and part digital magazine, De La Rosa Diaries is ultimately about becoming the person you once imagined for yourself, even if the journey looks different from what you expected. If you’ve ever felt caught between who you are and who you hope to become, you’ll probably feel at home here.

I’m really happy you found your way here.

xoxo, Kiara

FAQ

I officially started blogging as of May 2026!

Right now, just me and my dog. Which means there may be weeks where I post more frequently than others, but my goal is to always have something new published every Sunday at 9 A.M. EST.

Born in the Big Apple, raised in Miami. I’m also half Dominican and half Trinidadian

When I was 11 years old, I fell in love with the idea of starting a blog. Maybe it was one too many 2000s rom-coms or rewatching Bratz, but there was always something romantic and intimate to me about creating a virtual diary and sharing pieces of your life with the world. For a while, I gave up on that dream, but as I got older, I realized some childhood dreams are worth revisiting.

De La Rosa Diaries is a collection of personal essays, cultural commentary, fashion inspiration, reflections on womanhood, and the small moments that shape us as we try to figure ourselves out. Some posts may feel lighthearted and nostalgic, while others are more personal and reflective. Either way, this space is meant to feel honest, thoughtful, and human.
